Management

I take an extreme form of the Amazon’s two pizza team approach to run a loosely coupled partnerships of vendors and contractors on WhatsApp to provide services. Amazon culturally was created before the iPhone and had a very in person view of the world. A better view of the world now would be that an ideal company is one where you can run an entire business of a single Excel file and a WhatsApp group.

Grouping

  • Ledger. People and Finance Management.
    • PM. Defining Hiring Roles and Technology.
    • Revenue. Sales, Marketing and Partnerships.
      • PM
      • Execution
    • Support. Customer Support and Delivery.
      • PM
      • Execution

The grouping of a venture will be as above. The ultimate goal for a company is revenue that leads to free cash flow that can be reinvested. Revenue and Support tasks exist as the Execution mechanisms to get there.

Method

  • WhatsApp. All communication using the communities feature for collaboration.
  • Excel. Excel for running the actual business. The Excel incorporates the following worksheets.
    • PR/FAQ. A Press Release and FAQ that defines the business and what we attempt to execute. Including the projects associated with it tracked as a task list.
    • Revenue. All marketing and sales related tasks are tracked with KPIs so we can keep tack.
    • Support. All customer support related tasks and KPIs to track how we are doing.
    • Ledger. The financial picture at a moment’s notice of what the cost is based on our ledger.
    • YYYY. A routine tracked as a checklist that is run daily for all pieces of the company.
