Working on the Big Branches

I have a tendency to work outside-in. Create the business and then go backward. This is fine, but there needs to be a solid foundation on which these businesses are built if you have multiple businesses. I’ve worked on the brands, versus working on the branches. The branches are where the power is because a solid foundation allows the addition of new brands. The focus I am moving to is to create a solid foundation. The foundation has to be solid and repeatable so that adding additional people doesn’t cause confusion and the path is linear.

This is not to say that brands can’t define the foundation, it is more if there is no foundation to start with then none of that matters much. Each brand defines its own process and it is hard to scale especially if the team is small. The goal is to create a process where it makes it easier to build up.
