Python and Ruby are good enough. While Go and Rust and other languages solve a lot of problems at the system layer most of the time for an API backend a simple Python or Ruby system works completely fine.
While the next couple of years will likely see a lot of changes in regards to newer languages like Rust, Julia, etc. I don’t think Python will be going away as it has become a defacto standard for AI and data analytics.
Same can be said of Ruby. Rails is still a solid way to write web applications.
So unless I am releasing a command line app for the most part I will be focused on these two languages.
